Design Challenge

ISCVT’s existing website had become outdated and was no longer generating donations or effectively communicating their business. They needed a future-forward, international, contemporary look for their new website that was approachable and “not too far out there”. ISCVT expressed a need for more declarative messaging, they wanted visitors to see their catalog of work, and encourage users to change. This was in service to the drive to contribute to positive change.

From a technical perspective, the website needed to meet web accessibility ADA WCAG 2.0 compliance. ISCVT wanted to build the majority of content themselves and expressed the need for a page builder & repeatable dynamic elements when building content, further complicating the deliverable.

How We Delivered

The design used a metro-block ideology, using image overlays and large blocks of color to evoke a forward-thinking aesthetic. Large blocky header typography was paired with thin stroke-width body copy to make large blocks of copy and varied layouts alike easy to read.

Calls to action, mission statements, and directive language lead the user from the homepage to their user funnel, to eventually donate to or engage with the organization.

Meeting WCAG 2.0 AA ADA guidelines at the time of launch, as well as an extensive cross-browser QA, the website directly accommodates users that may be browsing using outdated technology.

Custom page builder plugins and widgets were created to accommodate for more dynamic functionality, such as flipping cards and expandable blocks, that the client could use to build blog and page content. Built on WordPress, this website is straightforward and easy to update.
